The Art Guild CIC (TAG)

We work with people with fairness and respect.

We know that labels can limit or exclude participation. We aim to re-label, re-name, and challenge these limits by promoting equitable and equal practices alongside creative freedom.

 Our Story

Every artist deserves the chance to make work, show it publicly and meet an audience on equal terms.

Our three directors, Sharon Hockin, Shaeron Caton Rose and Douglas Thompson, have spent years working alongside disabled artists, community groups and festivals across Yorkshire. Again and again, they saw the same barriers: too little studio space, too few exhibitions and too few chances for artists to present their work on their own terms.

We established TAG to challenge those barriers. We work across print, papercut, mosaic, drama and installation, choosing the form that best suits each artist and project. We bring the same care to our language and working methods as we do to the art itself.

Labels can restrict how people are seen and what they are allowed to do. We question those labels, rename where necessary and challenge the assumptions behind them. We place fair and equal practice alongside creative freedom.
